Paid social performance depends on creative volume and variety in a way most brands underestimate when they first scale spend. A single hero product shoot might be enough for a product launch, but it isn't enough to feed an ongoing testing cadence across prospecting and retargeting. This is the workflow we build with clients to keep creative supply matched to what the media plan actually needs.

Start from the media plan, not the shot list

The workflow only works backward from what's actually needed — how many new creative concepts per week does the testing cadence require, across which funnel stages and formats (static, short-form video, UGC-style). Building a shot list first and hoping it maps to media needs is how brands end up with beautiful assets that don't move performance.

A repeatable shoot structure

  • Modular shot lists: A base set of angles, lifestyle contexts, and detail shots per product that can be recombined into multiple ad concepts rather than shot once per concept.
  • Batching by product line: Shooting multiple SKUs in a single session against consistent lighting and backdrops, so the creative team can produce weeks of assets from one production day.
  • UGC and creator content as a parallel track: Run alongside, not instead of, produced photography — the two formats consistently outperform each other in different placements and audiences.
The brands that win the creative testing race aren't shooting more often — they're shooting in a way that produces more usable variations per session.

Post-production for speed, not just polish

We standardize editing templates so a single shoot can be turned into a dozen ad-ready variants — different crops for placement, different overlay copy for message testing — without a full re-edit each time. This is usually the biggest bottleneck we find when a brand's creative output can't keep pace with their media spend.

Closing the loop with performance data

The workflow isn't complete without feeding performance data back to the creative team — which angles, contexts, and formats are actually winning in the ad account. Without that loop, photography and media testing operate as two disconnected functions instead of one system.
